Aims of Aston Villa Ladies FC
- To locate, identify and recruit suitable talented female players, within the locality (1 ½ hours) of the Club
- Provide quality coaching, education and welfare at all age groups, and at all levels
- Where a fixture programme is in place attend all fixtures, communicating with opposition if there is any problem on match days
- To enhance player development providing individuals with both technical and tactical knowledge to achieve their full potential
- To support community development through girls football in the surrounding area
- To locate, identify and recruit the most talented coaches within the locality of the Club
- Develop and enhance the education and quality of existing coaches
- Develop a pool of qualified coaches, available to the club at all levels
- Implement a comprehensive Coach Mentoring Strategy for the development of female coaches
- Work closely with the international teams to make sure any potential international player has the opportunity to be scouted
OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB
- To develop players to a standard consistent with the highest levels in women’s football
- To recommend players for national U15 and U17 selection if deemed at the appropriate standard
- To establish squads at age groups aligned with the League structures supported by the Club
- To establish a challenging and structured technical programme which is to be followed by all coaching staff
- To provide a suitable programme of fixtures for all age groups
- Develop a scouting system that will cover local schools, clubs, representative games and local authority based schemes within 1½ hours radius of the Club. Players will be taken for assessments on a regular basis throughout the season for a period of four weeks.
- All players to be assessed on two occasions per season, using standard FA assessment procedures
- Each player will receive an individual action plan with targets tailored to their needs. This is to be agreed by both coach and player, and will be made available to player, parent and head teacher if required
- All coaching staff to possess FA Coaching Qualification and CRB (Minimum FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate for C of E who are to be encouraged to work towards their UEFA B Coaching Licence qualification). Financial support for Continuing Professional Development is available through the C of E programme
- Staff appraisals, in the form of an annual one-to-one interview, to be conducted by a senior member of staff. All appraisals, including action plans, to remain confidential with copies to be maintained in the coach’s file
- Confidential computerised records of all players and staff will be maintained and constantly upgraded. These are to be stored centrally in the Youth Department.
